Brain Injury Network of Northern Michigan
Grant Policy
- The Brain Injury Network of Northern Michigan (BINNM) will assign a pool of money in the budget to be used as grants to assist brain injury survivors in need. The grant monies must be designated for durable medical equipment or transportation.
- Beneficiaries must reside in Northern Michigan (north of US 10).
- A provider (member of BINNM) must complete a grant application that can be found on the BINNM website (www.braininjurynorth.com) and submit it to treasurer@braininjurynorth.com.
- Beneficiaries must not have other financial means (e.g., insurance, sponsors, other grants, etc.) available to them or else the cost of the equipment, etc. must exceed other funds available.
- Beneficiaries may only receive grant monies one time per calendar year.
- Each grant application will be reviewed and approved by a majority vote of the BINNM board.
- Applications will be reviewed within two weeks of receipt and the provider submitting the application will be notified of the board’s decision within three weeks.
- Funds will be paid directly to providers or the agency providing the service, device, etc.
- Receipts from project/item purchased with BINNM funds must be submitted within a 14 day period of releasing funds.
- If home modification is required, a licensed professional must be utilized for completion of task to ensure safety and standards.
