Grant Policy
- The Brain Injury Network of Northern Michigan (BINNM) will assign a pool of money in the budget to be used as grants to assist brain injury survivors in need. The grant monies must be designated for a specific purpose, such as (but not limited to) purchase of equipment, payment for therapies, medically necessary services, DME & transportation.
- Survivors applying for the grant must reside in Northern Michigan (north of US 10).
- Survivors or their caregivers will complete a grant form that can be found on the BINNM website (www.braininjurynorth.com) and submit it to the Treasurer
- Survivors requesting a grant must not have other financial means (e.g., insurance, sponsors, other grants, etc.) available to them or else the cost of the equipment, etc. must exceed other funds available.
- Survivors may only make one request for grant monies per calendar year.
- Each grant application will be reviewed and approved by the BINNM board.
- All applications are subject to board approval. Applications will be reviewed within 1 month of receipt.
- Letter of Intent for services rendered. This letter will be provided by BINNM to the provider to outline the amount approved by the Board to cover the service, DME or transportation costs.
- Please understand that by approving the service, DME or transportation cost the board members are not providing their professional recommendations to support the use of this product, device or service.
